Turbo Gauge at 12:00 max. HELP. 900 1993

Thanks a lot for your replies! I need to take the car this week for an oil change, so I'll get beneath the car and check the wastegate arm and actuator. Visually the hoses seem ok, and the car runs very smooth and strong. The thing is I recently bought it from and uncle of mine, who claims that the gauge used to climb up way more than that on the white area. I also remember this car being much 'swifter' when he used to own it. I've also felt on a couple of times when going uphill with the throttle in a position where the turbo should be exerting lots of boost that the car would suddenly feel lighter (as if someone was pushing it from behind) for a couple of seconds, then back to normal, then back to light.... as if some of the turbo boost was entering the engine, but then escaping somewhere... Hope it is something as simple as the wastegate arm becoming loose. I will give it a check and post back. Any other solutions or ideas to check while being beneath the car? Thanks to all who posted!!!
