Generic Problem....Volvo 'related' 140-160

I have the same problem with my wife's car. It is a '94 Mitsubishi Expo mini-van with the 2.4 liter engine. Absolutly no sign of an oil leak anywhere and it does not "burn oil" continuesly. However after sitting at red light for a minute or two and then accelerating a cloud of light blue smoke comes out for a few seconds and then it clears up. I'm thinking it must be the valve stem seals, as George has said.

Mine is worse than yours however. I put two or three quarts a month in her car so it is getting out of hand. Other than that it has been a pretty reliable car.
To bad there is not a "Brickboard" type forum for Mitsu's.

BTW is yours a 2.4.

Regards, Jim
