Failed NJ Emissions - Vacuum Line Trick Doesn't Work ...... 200

Hello. Earlier I posted how I failed Emissions. One trick suggested was to remove & plug vacuum line going to computer/component behind pass. side headlight. Well I tryed this to see what would happen. Nothing happened ! Car ran fine. Didn't make any difference at all. From what I read removing & plugging this vacuum line should put car in so called limp home mode. I am confused and not sure how to next proceed. Thanks to all for further assistance with this.
