jump started dead battery - now it won't start at all - fried the electric system? 200 1987

My 87 240 has been setting for a few months. I kept the battery in the basement on a block of wood so it would't go bad. I put it on the battery charger and it went up to a full charge almost immediatly. I took it outside and put it in the car. It could barely turn over. This battery is dead. I brought the charger outside and hooked it up and set it for the "jump-start mode". The car turned over slowly and (this is the key question) there was a buzzing sound comming from behind the dash from behind the heater control area. I unplugged the charger and pulled the battery from my other car. It took about a dozen tries, but it started. The buzzing behind the dash disapeared then. I let it run for about 15 minutes and shut it off. Now it wont start at all. There is about a half tank of gas, and it shouldn't have weakened in only a three months. Today I put a new battery in it and it only turns over. There is no pre-start injector buzz when I turn the key now. I checked all of the fuses. I even replaced the fuel pump fuse just in case. I cleaned up the terminals on the coil (which were not that bad)and checked the cap and rotor. Still won't start. Did I fry a relay or something? Is there something located behind the radio/heater area that could have made this noise? I've got to get this car running soon because I am retiring my old 245 after this winter. It's got the Ohio Cancer. Severe rust, and it's a shame, this was the nicest 245 in Toledo about five years ago.
Ben
