Need a couple of answers about power steering 900 1996

My daughter's 960 has been using power steering fluid for a while. Fearing that it might be the rack I finally checked it out and have a couple of questions.

I do not think it is the rack. The leak is pretty much in the middle and the boots on the rack seem good. I did notice there is a large amount of dirt around the high pressure hose - cleaned it off. Started up the car (up on stands) and turned the wheel back and forth - nothing. It appears that there has been fluid 'spraying' over the whole bottom of the engine (power steering fluid even dripping from the bottom of the oil filter). I plan on changing out the high pressure hose within the next couple of days but thought I would ask - anyone have any other ideas? How would I check and know if it was the rack? Could it be something else?

Also have a question about coolant but that's another post.

As always - I really appreciate the feedback.
