Rings for my b30 140-160 1975

Hi George et all,
I got a new fuel pressure regulator anyway, the old one was all rusty and probably had dirt in it. I replaced it this morning, and guess what? It ran! But after screwing in the idle control knob to reduce the rpms from 2K to 1K, the same problem occured: too rich and eventually the garage started to fill up with gas fumes and the engine slowly died. I unscrewed the large black idle screw to no avail.
Your are right, there is more to this than just one problem. After the 5 minutes of idle, the temp gauge on the dash didn't move. That used to climb up pretty fast in November. It has a new thermostat and ECT sensor.
I guess it is time to throw in the towel and find a good mechanic, call AAA for a tow, and spend more money. Darn it. All I wanted was an errand car to help my daughter learn to drive better (no ABS, TRACS, etc) and then find someone who needs and likes Volvos. I expected to invest $1000. This is now getting close to $3000 ($450 for new tires).
