A continuation from last week. Long story short: 1. Battery was dead even after charging it up on the charger. 2. Used the battery charger in the "jump start mode" still not enough power. 3. Heard a buzzing sound from behind the dash.
4. Put in new battery, car started, buzzing continued for 10 seconds. 5. let car run 10 minutes and shut off. 6. Wouldn't restart - had to push the car back up the driveway...
This weekend, I've replaced the 25 amp fuse in the engine compartment even though the old one was still OK. Replaced both fuel pump fuses. cleaned up all of the contacts at the battery and at the relay on the drivers side of the engine compartment. Checked for power at the fuses with a test light for the fuel pumps, both OK. Checked power at the coil, test light shown it was getting power. The engine turns over but doesn't seem to be getting any fuel. I don't hear the pre-start injection when the key is turned, nor smell any gas. The fuel gauge shows between 1/2 to 1/2 a tank and I opened the cap and heard the sound of gas sloshing around when I shook the car, so it's got gas. The gas in the tank was only from October so it's can't be bad yet. The outside temperature was in the high 30's so there is no reason for it not to start.
Any Ideas? I need help! I want to start driving it in March and can't afford to have it towed into a shop.
