Pumping Irony... 120-130 1967

Hi Jeff,
Curious the timing of this and the knocking noise. Was that ever solved?
Is it possible that while the head was off the car a small nut/bolt or whatever fell into one of the top holes in the water pump and the knocking was that item against the impeller? ..also now it has possibly jammed the impeller so you are not getting any circulation? Thid is just a guess onmy part, but it solves a lot of questions if true.
