After installing a brand-new defective in-tank pump, I'd thought that I would try to fabricate a tool rather than re-borrow a friend's wrench for the second install. (I hate to borrow tools--especially more than once!) It took less time to make than driving over to borrow the "real" tool, and with a set of vice grips clamped onto the side, it worked like a charm.
