testing 945 windshield washer check valve 900 1992

Hello all:

I am trying to track down a low windshield washer fluid volume/pressure problem on my '92 945. I have unclogged the windshield washer jets using fine wire and a mild acid solution to dissolve deposits. They flow fine now, but the fluid just comes out in a dribble (often it doesn't make it to the glass!).

I read in the FAQ that a faulty check valve might cause this-- can someone tell me how to test my check valve-- I know it is a one-way valve, but I am not sure about the operation. My guess is that the bottom port should allow fluid flow upward and out through the top ports, which are oriented 180 deg apart, but not the other way, correct?

Thanks!
