NO START PLEASE HELP!!!! I think it may be the mixture screw K-Jetronic 200 1981

Fellow bricksters,

I am having enormous issues with my 242GT. It has steadliy developed firstly very poor starting accompanied by smoke on start-up (it is not consuming oil however), and then up until recently a total reluctance to start at all. I had the car serviced by my trusted Volvo mechanic a couple of months ago and the only problem reported was a stuck fuel mixture screw (adjusted by a 3mm hex key).

No great drama's it ran fine a month or so, however I managed to get the screw loosened with some WD-40. And my problems have magnified since then.

I had been suffering gradually a decrease in drivability, sudden loss of power and eventual stalling and then a real pain in the a.. to start it again, when it did restart I had a decent amount of smoke come from the exhaust (it is not consuming oil however). Then this week a complete refusal to start at all. I have a nice healthy spark however I think that I running way too rich a mixture. However the smell of fuel is a bit stronger than usual

Is it the fuel mixture, and has anyone suffered this previously. Thanking everyone in advance....
