Rapping start up 444-544

Oops, wrong board -- old habits die hard. Thanks for the response though.

It could be the fiber gear. I replaced the timing gear but not the cam gear last summer. At each oil change about a quarter teaspoon of fiber teeth pieces are found in the pan. Perhaps there was a slight difference in tooth pitch. Wouldn't the rapping return at idle if its the timing gear though?

No non stock rotating assemblies yet. I had just about given up on the genny but a good cleaning got her running just fine again. There is some end play in the generator shaft but that is a different kind of music.

Best regards,

Joe M in WV
