Various warning lights on; alternator? 200

Hello,

1990 Volvo 240, non-A.C., 245,000 miles.
While driving home tonight, and after exiting the interstate, various warning lights (including alternator, service, check engine, and brake failure, IIRC), came on dimly and varied in intensity while traveling at slower speeds (35 mph). When I came to a stop, all lights were out. The engine ran as normal. I had the heater fan on 2, and headlights and radio on.

Went to a store, came out and drove home, happened again after 10 minutes at slower speeds.

I'm thinking alternator brushes, or failing regulator section. No smell of smoke, and a cursory look shows no wiring problems?

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Dave Milo
