1993 240 Console Plug Labeled 'SRS'. What does it do? 200 1993

On our 93 245, there's a plug labeled "SRS" in the center of the row of switches on the center console right above the gearshifter. It's three spots to the right of the cigarette lighter, in between the rear defrost switch and the emergency blinker switch. What is this SRS plug for? I need to work behind the console to repair a light without setting off the airbag. Advice? Cautions?
