water pump replacement 900 1995

non-turbo 940

My water pump sprang a leak that is quite bad. The water reservoir is always empty at every trip I take. Anyway, I had it replace with a TRW brand and all seem fine, except that mine being a non-turbo, I had to plug the small outlet that is used only in turbo machine. I had a rubber plug that fit well, but yet leak.

Is that any way to plug that hole there? The rubber plug is an oem part meant for that hole so there must be something that I did wrong.

Anyone with similar experience and had it done right? Appreciate it if you would share your experience.

Thanks
Laozong
