Tube on Firewall side of Throttle Body 200

Hello
I am taking off the TB on a 1982 244 I bought yesterday for some cleaning. There is a copper like tube with a compression fitting on the firewall side of the TB, that goes to a vacuum type thing, then another copper like tube that goes down and towards the Bell Housing...What is that tube for? because It has a hole in it!!
Hopefully its not a stupid question, but I am used to working on B18's. This 240 thing is all new as of yesterday. Thanks in advance. Mike
