High Oil Level Curing Noise Valvetrain 900 1991

Hi,

1991 940 Turbo with 365,000 kms - very noisy valvetrain when idling.
I made a mistake and ended up filling it with a bit too much oil (measure about a 1/4 inch above the full mark on the dip stick)

Strangely, now the valvetrain noise has dropped considerably!

Is this indicative of an oil pump that is on it's way out?

I've been running it with Mobil 1 synthetic grade 10W30 (though overkill - my thought is lubrication of the turbo has gotta be tough on regular oil)

Thanks again for all your help!

John
