Max tire size & perhaps a lift? - 1988 245 DL 200 1988

Okay, I've got an idea... something I haven't quite wrapped my brain around yet, but I want to go for more the "off road" look rather than the racer look with my volvo - So my question is this:

What is the maximum height and width (seperately or together) on a 15" rim for the 240 series? Is there some way to push the envelope on these specs?

As another question, has anyone found a way to raise their volvo without affecting the suspension geometry too much?
