speaker mounting up front... 120-130

I want to mount some speakers up front, but I do not want to cut nice big holes in my lucky-find-in-junkyard door panels as is commonly done. I'm wondering if anybody else has had the same feeling and found some other method for mounting speakers up front. Right now I'm thinking of using some standard size cones and fabing up some custom wedge-shaped boxes that I could mount on the side-walls of the foot-wells. The only other thing I can think of is to go with some very small tweater-ish type ones that could fit snuggly just at the bottom corners of the window, on top of the dash.

What do ya guys think? Pictures of your set-up...?
