Need advice please! 1978 244

Hello all!

I am going to the junkyard to pick up an engine
to put in my 78' 244 this weekend. The 244 has
a B21 I believe. If I cannot find a B21 then am I
able to use the B23 block and head and swap
everything else without much trouble???

It's my understanding that the B23 is just a larger
bore of the B21 so I am ASSuming that the throttle body,
starter, alternator, etc will bolt right up!

The 244 threw a rod so everything else should still be good
barring the block and head.

Will the block bolt right up to the bellhousing with no problems???

I am removing the air conditioning from the car so that
will not be an issue!

I have some "shadetree mechanic" friends helping
but I would just like to know what issues I will have.

I appreciate any help/advice you all can give.

karl
