Re: 240 overdrive problems 200

My 1987 Volvo 240GL equipped with an auomatic transmission has some issues associated with its overdrive switch.

(1) Sometimes at night, when I'm driving my overdrive indicator on my dash will VERY DIMLY light up (even though I haven't engaged it). Is this a potential problem>

(2) Once when I engaged with overdrive on the highway, I tried to disengage it via the switch on the shifter knob and it wouldn't turn off- I had to manually shift out of DRIVE in order to disengage.

Any guidance would be most appreciated.
