240 front seat support grid, how-to bend side wires 200 1984

I am at the end of swapping seat cushions from passenger side to driver's side, and as a final test I sat in the seat. After just a bit of bouncing I heard a couple of the springs undo themselves and am left wondering what I can do to get them to stay on. I had put a little bend in the end of the side wire to prevent this, but the whole wire turned 180 degrees so the bend let the spring slide right off.

What can I do to keep the springs on?
