What ecu should I have? 700

ok-I'm confused. Car is an 89 740T Wagon. It's got an 007 AMM and hall sensor so its an LH-2.2. I've had a serious fuel consumption issue which I still havn't tracked down after replacing just about everything related to fuel. I have a 541 ecu in the car and someone from another list says the 541 in for an LH-2.4. They also say it is a problematic unit. I have read somewhere that 89 740T's came with the 541. But I also see people selling all sorts of used ecu's they says is for the 740, LH 2.2, b230. Ecu's listed are 544,554,507, etc etc. Is there a source that has definative info on which ecu's came with which cars? I bought the car used with 180K and no idea of its service history so anything is possible. It came with an ect installed for a LH-2.4 but strangely replacing it with the correct one did nothing, good or bad. Also is the 541 problematic and if so is there a replacement? TIA

Dave
