Vacuum sound in dash area. 200

Thanks to the many posts on this subject and a nice January day in Iowa, I was finally able to look into the vacuum leak/sound in my 240 GL. I know it is coming from the area around the white canister under the center console. If I hold one of the control buttons in (let's say defrost) it hisses continually. If I push down on the gas pedal (moving or parked) it does it briefly. I checked the fitting on the driver's side, doesn't seem to be bad. Are there connections to the 3 buttons too? I am getting full function from the routing of the air, but I want to fix this. Anyone know what to look for next?
