Rubber Molding Problem 200 1986

Ok so this is not a critical problem but none-the-less it seams to be a common one. The lower rubber molding on my passenger door keeps coming loose and hangs off the door dragging on the road hitting passing dogs etc. I've glued it back on several times but it always seams to come loose. Is there a trick to attaching it correctly? A certain kind of adhesive I should use? I don't want to just pull it off so as always any help with this would be appreciated.

Thanks
Scott
