Adjust while hot?? 140-160 1971

I looked on the Isky web site but it lists many cams for the B20. Since there is no correlation to the part# on the IPD site I am not sure which cam to look at. However, I did notice that all the valve lash measurement were adjusted 'hot'. Do they just mean when the engine is at normal operating temp or does the engine need to be running while adjusting them like the Chev 350 in my dad's boat? Yuck, what a mess!!
