B20 engine questions. 120-130

In that case, wouldn't it have had the remote shifter? I'm asking because I know next to nothing about the configuration of Canadian Volvos. Of course it could have been a "74 140 engine (the eight bolt crank and undrilled F type head make that a pretty good bet) that was put into an earlier car that kept it's old transmission. The number on the engine should tell, shouldn't it?
