240 "g" wagon - won't run will start 200 1984

I have a nice 300+k miles- well looked after 1984 wagon
it is model 240- G (L)?
This car is probably in need of a replaced AIR MASS METER ?

symptoms are:
Starts, idles fine for a few,
will not continue running and dies
when gas is pressed.

ANY RECOMMENDATIONS OUT THERE?

This is an automatic by the way...GREAT CAR!!! I AM 3rd owner and well loved and well maintained over the years!!!!!

I am getting full starting capacity and power -
and then she just dies when in gear and won't move.

car is not able to move off street until I repair this - don't want to tow her- is this a couple of hours work if I can source a used part? ALSO NEED USED PARTS IN SEATTLE- Northern European AUto REcycling is bought out by someone new- who else serves this area for parts?

PLEASE HELP!
