Automatic trans OD drops out 200

I have been down the road of tracing that problem. Wish I had known then what I know now: There is a relatively inexpensive part [$39.95] sold by IPD and probably others like fpcgroton that bypasses the button, relay and wiring but still keeps the functionality of the OD. What you loose is the ability to toggle OD off and on. If you drive in a hilly region or pull a trailer, then you might want to retain ability to toggle OD off. The part looks like a plate with a seal and goes on the tranny where the solenoid is. Probably costs $1.00 to make... Just saw it yesterday 2/6/06 in an IPD mailer so it is currently offered. Could be a "make do" repair" until warmer weather makes it fun to get under the car again. HTH
