Awhile back I had found a site that had a list of repair shops who are expert on older Volvos like 1800's. It's cool especially if you're traveling across the country. I didn't save it and can't find it again. Help!? Anyone know what I'm talking about, ever seen it? I live on the San Francisco peninsula. My current mechanic, who was on that list (Popular Mechanix in SF) can't seem to get my car running well which is another story. Fresh tune-up, new distributor, and it has a problem it didn't have when I took it to them, it hesitates, sputters a little, intermittingly with a warm engine, reminiscent of an oxygen sensor problem I had with my former '89 240 wagon. Could be fuel pump? I took it back 3 times 'cause it wouldn't hold an idle. Each time they say it's runnin' good now. Now when it dips to 500 rpm and I gas it, it backfires. I'm taking a cross country trip soon, and I wanted it to be checked up, and it's worse. I also have an offer on a 1998 V70 XC! Going to far the other way. I want a 240. Simple, clean and nice. Any psychologists out there?
