knocking sound from engine 700 1991

Steve..my name is Paul and BRICKBOARD regarding a a clicking sound from my 91 740
.Your suggestion regarding the torque converter bolts being loose is interesting enough for me to follow up on this and I hope you dont
mind..Basically as I ex plained the clicking sound does not sound like a typical ping/knocking sound for me to think
it is such. It could well be the exhaust manold/gasket etc but somehow I am not leaning to that as yet..For you to suggest the torque converter bolts tells me that
perhaps you are familiar with the situation somewhat. If this is indeed so, could the loose bolts be the reason I hear a "crenk, crenk, crenk sound just after reversing and coming to an
abrupt stop?..It is as if something is still turning even after the vehicle is stopped!!!!The sound clicking/crenk seems to come from the bellhousing area.
To tighten these bolts would require the tranny removal..wouldnt it?Thanks for your time ..hope to hear from you >>paul
