How Do I Remove The Battery?! 900 1992

I know! Stupid question! But bear with me. Last night, after not driving my '92 940 for a few days, I discovered the battery was toast. 20 degree weather probably didn't help. Not that it wasn't unexpected... I believe the battery pre-dated the Civil War. Anyway... in the dark, it appeared to me that a long, thin vertical rod with a loop at the top (located at the front of the battery)needed to be unscrewed and that it would be simple process. Well... the thing was rusted solid, I suppose, and when I turned it, the rod simply broke, leaving that loop in my hand. And this was after spraying it liberally with PB Blaster. Anyway... now I have a rod without a loop... and it's probably still frozen solid.

I won't be able to look at it again until tonight. Does anyone have any tips for removing it?

Now I'll allow the program to return to more pressing concerns! ;-)

Thanks!

Steve
