good vs. bad years for rwd volvo's?

Are there good years vs. bad years in terms of reliablity for 200/700/900 series cars? I realize a lot will have to do with how the cars have been maintained and cared for over the years, so for sake of discussion lets just take that out of the equation. Are there certain model's or years to avoid?
