Wipers come on with Headlights 200 1986

Weird problem just popped up last week. Driving home at dusk and turned on the headlights. About 2-3 minutes later, the wipers came on. I thought I had bumped the switch, so I toggled it and put it back to off and they continued. Turned off the lights and the wipers kept going until I toggled it again. Needless to say, now every time I turn on the lights, the wipers kick on.

Disconnected/cleaned/reconnected the ground wires at the steering column. Fuse was ok. Tried to follow the wires to see if there was another ground wire (there's a brown coming out of the wiper switch -- not a black), but can't figure out where it goes after it gets absorbed into the big bundle behind the dash.

I've temporarily pulled the wiper relay and the issue doesn't arise. During a test drive with lights on, the high beam indicator glowed slightly (comes on normally when the high beams are turned on). Ran out of time and energy to continue troubleshooting (I did all the brakes tonight before the electrical fun). Any suggestions on where else to troubleshoot? Maybe the wiper relay is shot (second relay I've put in)? Or could it be the step relay for the headlights backfeeding power or something goofy? Hopefully I overlooked something simple... Thx.
