No drips, no runs, no errors. Just a LOT of gasoline. It's as if the computer thinks the starter is still engaged.
Back when this first started, memory is getting fuzzy, I think it was when the ebrake was up because I was trying to solve the "engage reverse and electrics to engine stopped" mystery. The switch for the ebrake light over heated and melted the plastic part of the switch at the handle. The ebrake light burned out, I think, and the ALT and Brake lights on the dash also stopped working. But, just like Christina, the ALT and Brake lights came back on about a week later. Who knows why.
The fuse for the ebrake had a 20 amp instead of a 5 amp. Guess the prior owner knew something was wrong. I still haven't found any melted wires, but that is because it is soo cold in the garage, my fingers stop working after about 30 minutes.
The local garage doesn't have a spare computer for a swap and check. My 1973 green book doesn't say anything about start vs cold runing being any different. My MFS appears to be OK, the FPR is new as is the water temp sensor, the IAC appears to be working (lots of air being sucked in after start), Hmmm? I just checked, the IAC is not humming with the key turned to on. I will check again later to see if there are electrics going to the IAC.
No current with the key on and not started.
Back to the drawing board,
Klaus
