LED bulb replacements that are as bright as filament lamps 200

For some geeky reason, I want to experiment with LED replacement bulbs for my car. I like LEDs because they are much more efficient than filaments and are supposed to last nearly forever. There are plenty of them on eBay, but most of them are not bright enough when compared to regular filament lamps, or are too focused and only shine straight ahead (they don't illuminate omni-directionally, using the reflector in the cluster's housing, as filaments do). I'm looking for LED bulbs that are exactly as bright (or a little brighter) as their filament elders are.

I have found one make of LED bulb that is as bright as the filament running lights. I'm using them for the forward amber running lights above the turn signal bulb. It has LEDs firing forward and on all sides, lighting the reflector surrounding it. It looks really good and produces a bit of a sparkly-effect because of the individual LEDs refracting through the lens. There is a red version of this lamp which I haven't purchased yet but should illuminate as effectively as the amber one does.

But I haven't found one as bright as a filament brake, turn signal, or reverse lamp. Has anyone found such a lamp?
