Why does Volvo specify slight positive camber at the front wheels of the 240s... 200

...and has anyone leveled the camber or gone slightly negative? Bentley says 1/4 to 1 degree positive.

I'd rather not rip up the outer edges of my front tires on hard turns. 91 244 has Bilstein HDs, turbo bars, newer ball joints and tie rod ends and stock springs.
