M46 stuck in gear (drive) after aw70 > m46 89 740 700

Hey everyone.
Trying to complete my aw70 to m46 conversion.
And I have a problem.
With car in neutral the transmission turns. Put it in gear and it keeps on turning.
Put it in reverse and it turns the opposite direction.
When I put the clutch in I did align it. It just seems that the trans is locked to the motor and will turn at the same RPM. Essentially I have turned my manual transmission into a automatic.
What in the world did I do wrong?
