Tail light gasket + Spray paint for wheels 200 1989

Bricksters,

1) I recently took off my tail lights to give them a good clean in the kitchen sink -- the rubber gaskets are old, pretty flattened in some spots. I'd like to replace them. Any suggestions to make my own ?
What kind of material can I use ? Durable rubber type material available from Sears, Home Depot, or my local hardware store in which I can cut the gasket.

2) I bought 4 metal hubcaps (the small ones from older 240s) to replace my current worn plastic ones. I'd like to paint the wheels first. The original black paint is faded and pitted. Probably silver would be good. Suggestions for spray paint color and type available at local automotive or hardware stores ?

Thanks.
