automatic trans.question 200 1990

i have had a repeated problem with the auto. trans. which is the car won't shift into overdrive. the up shift light stays on and can not be turned off. the trans. shop says they have replaced both the trans. relay and the trans. solenoid several times and it works ok for a few weeks and then quits again. i and thinking of using I.P.D. overdrive fix kit to put an end to this problem has anyone had any success with this ? thanks for any information. Rich
