Odometer Problems 200

Hey everyone.. I know this subject has been beat to death, but I am going to inquire about in anyways. My odometer on my 89 240 quit a while back. I read the posts about the gear cracking and breaking in the odometer itself. I took the cluster out and took apart the odometer today and could not find any glaring problems.

The gears on the right side near the tenths spot(mine are gray and brown gears on a gray "bezel") appear to be in good working order, with no broken teeth or anything of that sort. On the left side there is no problems with the the white gear on the end of the shaft that turns the numbers or the black gear below it, aside from a couple of small trace black spots on the white gear.

My question is, what else could be wrong? The motor itself? Am I looking at the right places or parts? Anything else I need to look at?

I can provide pics if need be, as the odometer is sitting next to my computer right now.

Thanks.

Whitt
