AMP FUSE??? 700

hey everyone
i used to have a 640w amp in my brick but just reciently upgraded to a 1200w amp. i installed the amp and the inline fuse (on + near battery) blew, because it was only 25amp. i bought a new fuse and i can use either a 40 amp or 100 amp fuse. the amplifier calls for a 80 amp fuse.....should i use the 40 or 100 amp fuse?
i know pretty dumb question but i dont want to keep blowing fuses AND i dont want to blow my new amp!!
