Electrical Gremlins 200 1989

Recently the "idiot" lights on my '89 240 started flickering while I was driving. There was no performance drop. Fearing an electrical fire I have not driven the car since. I have taken the dash apart and traced the wires from the dash to the fuse panel looking for a loose connection. There was none. Does anyone have an idea of where else to look?
