145E cold starting 140-160

Cold starting problem 145E - 1973 automatic 120,000 miles. The engine starts fine when very cold, but stalls shortly thereafter. I can keep it running if I continue to pump the gas pedal a little. After the engine warms-up, it runs smooth. Any thoughts?
