1981 240 starts but won't stay running 200 1981

car has k-jet fuel inj. only the cold start injector is giving fuel. fuel injectors will spray if the air plate is lifted manually, but do not spray after is the car is cranked. car will not start period w/ cold start injector disconnected. same behavior even when fuel pump is jumped. also this may or may not be related but my tach is not working, could this keep the fuel system from giving fuel if not getting a signal from the ignition? thanks in advance for any help offered. Adam.
