Unsolved air con problems. 900

Erratic air con behavior arises from unable to activate compressor at times and air con was not cold. Change compressor and refill gas as well as resoldering the air con unit. For the first 3 days it was OK. But this morning while travelling along highway, the air con wasn't producing cool air. Suspect the compressor stopped again so turned off and waited for 5 minutes before switching the air con. Again working cool air but alway not as cold as before. Still lost. Anyone can give a clue as I will be going to the mechanics again the next few days. Should I look into the coil and if there a thermostat for air con.
