What a PITA! S90-V90

Still sorting my "new" V90.
Driver's carpet was dirty and damp, but we had some snowy weather when I drove it to get it through emissions testing so I could get it registered.

It had a funky feel to it, but no window fogging and it did not smell like antifreeze. From the residue on my fingers it could have been brake fluid or too much carpet shampoo. No evidence of brake fluid leaking into the interior and I just did a full fluid flush and all is still accounted for. Same with coolant. I flushed that and topped it up after a proper burp and that has been steady.

I went after the carpet with the wet vac, then carpet shampoo, then a couple of fresh water rinses. Overnight it dried to the touch (heated garage and a big fan), but still felt funky. Couple of more rinses but I was thinking I should pull the carpet. I unbolted the seat and wrestled the carpet out and sure enough, antifreeze in the lowest spots in the floorpan.

I now have the carpet immersed in the bathtub with the goal of a few soak/rinse cycles mainly dictated by the amount of time before my wife gets home....

Car running in the driveway with no apparent leaks so hopefully the PO had the heater core replaced on his nickel. One of the hoses at the firewall seemed like it was a weeper at one point so I snugged the clamps.

I am impressed with the carpet. It is molded to a good inch of foam so no wonder these cars are so nice and quiet.
