dash fire 200 1991

Last week my daughters dash caught fire. It looks like it started in or around the heater box behind the radio. She got the fire out and the damage was contained to the central dash.

Has anyone had this same problem?

The heater was on at the time of the fire, but NO fuses blew.

Overall the car is/was in excellant condition. It was a 240 sedan with 152k miles, auto and air. It has new brakes exhaust and tires. The interior is in good shape except for the smell. The body has never been hit and has no rust. Does it make sense to repair this car or sell as is. We purchased another car for my daughter so it's up for grabs.

If anyone is interested my # is 937-369-5519 and the car is in sw ohio.

Thanks

Greg
