Expansion tank replacement 700

The outlet fitting on my coolant expansion tank (89 740T) broke off last night, and a 34 degree night at that. The heater quit heating due to no coolant, but temp guage never got above normal. I was in town and drove it slowly, for about ten minutes, keeping a close eye on the temp gauge, so I hope I didn't damage the motor.
I went out this AM, now that I can see what is going on, and found about a half inch of the fitting still on the tank- enough to jam the hose up tight and clamp. I put water & coolant in, and left the cap slightly loose. It appears to be holding, but I am not sure about driving the car like it is, in case the hose blows off.
So I am looking for a replacement tank. I found less expensive aftermarket tanks, about $20.00 less than Volvo. Are they OK to use? If they are not worth the savings, I will find a ride to the Volvo place about 30 minutes away from here (williamsburgVA). Got to have the car working ASAP.
Thanks for any advice.
