Weird front seat situation in my 245 project. 200 1983

Hi fellas. I am restoring an '83 245 that has 2 passenger seats up front. The leather is good on both and the lumbar works fine. The recline knob has broken off on the driver side seat due to it being jammed against the center console. My question is if the recline knob (one I get off another junker) can be switched to the other side next to the driver's door where it is supposed to be? If not, where can I find instructions and photos for taking the cushions and covers off this seat and putting them on an actual driver's seat? Any help would be greatly appreciated. JG
